A nice destination is the Gasparilla Island State Park where you can find a natural beach. There you can enjoy absolute peace and relaxation. While there are tourists on Gasparilla Island. But these are manageable. There is no mass tourism there.
As with many islands in southwest Florida, there is a toll to visit Gasparilla Island State Park.
Cars are allowed here, but tourists are mostly out and about with their golf carts. The small town center with shops and restaurants is well worth seeing.
It is best to drive north on Burnt Store Road from Cape Coral to 41. Here left for a few kilometers and when the ALDI store comes on the left, turn left at the next traffic light.
Then the island is signposted.
